An underrated film is usually well-known.\u00a0It’s not about being an obscure movie.\u00a0It’s about being misunderstood or possibly wasn’t what the audience &\u00a0critics\u00a0expected when the flick was first released.\u00a0A great example of such a film is Citizen Kane, but\u00a0it\u00a0won’t be included in this list because for me\u00a0it’s a masterpiece & already highly rated among\u00a0critics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
1.\u00a0Eyes Wide Shut(1999)\u00a0this film\u00a0is regarded as a flop on release day, with critics mentioning the themes reflected incoherent messages.\u00a0But although\u00a0it\u00a0showcases more quirky material than the other Stanley Kubrick\u00a0movies, \u00a0it’s still an outstanding\u00a0movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2.\u00a0Dreams(1990)\u00a0for\u00a0Akira\u00a0Kurosawa, when\u00a0it’s compared to his earlier films\u00a0it’s\u00a0not\u00a0highly regarded &\u00a0not\u00a0favored among critics.\u00a0In my opinion,\u00a0it’s one of the masterpieces that came from this genius nearing the end of his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3.\u00a0Lady Vengeance(2005);\u00a0the last flick in\u00a0Chan-wook\u00a0Park Vengeance Trilogy suffered from following footsteps of the successful\u00a0Oldboy.The narrative is digestible, and the movie is textured more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4.\u00a0Naked Lunch(1991)\u00a0has a specific\u00a0affinity\u00a0with fans of the book that was adapted to screen by David\u00a0Cronenberg.\u00a0Viewers might struggle with the\u00a0craziness\u00a0& others would be joyful with the mix between realism & fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5.\u00a0The Cable Guy(1996) with Jim\u00a0Carrey\u00a0& directed by Ben Stiller is another flick when you compare it to\u00a0Carrey’s\u00a0other work\u00a0it\u00a0will easily go unnoticed.\u00a0But when you take\u00a0it\u00a0as a\u00a0comedy\u00a0& compare\u00a0it\u00a0to today’s cinema and Adam\u00a0Sandler’s\u00a0comedy\u00a0it\u00a0will be considered a triumph. To date critics especially\u00a0it’s branded it a bad movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6.\u00a0Nosferatu The Vampire(1979) this flick that was directed by then-talented\u00a0Werner\u00a0Herzog\u00a0(who had a cameo in Tom Cruise Jack Reacher)\u00a0is almost overlooked when the talk about Vampires in Cinema.\u00a0The reason might be the discomposed performance of the lead actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7.\u00a0Lone Star(1996);\u00a0It’s a movie that concentrates how some might manage to be shadowed to legends.\u00a0Their reaction when they find out that their idol is but a fraud.\u00a0And the reaction of the audience towards such movies wasn’t welcoming as producers might expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8.\u00a0The Game(1997);\u00a0this authentic thriller by David Fincher, the director of the classic Seven wasn’t able to repeat his success.\u00a0Not because the movie wasn’t good, but because the audience, as usual, wasn’t able to comprehend the complexity of the characters.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9.\u00a0The Transformers(1986)\u00a0Depending on how the audience might\u00a0perceive\u00a0a certain flick would decide the status of a movie.\u00a0The screenplay in this animated film is one of the best to be constructed.\u00a0And the current series of The Transformers movies should have taken something from that classic animation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
