MED RESTAURANT AT CITY CENTER

First of all thank you Zomato & Med restaurant for the invitation, one of my blog contributors and regular with me on any food adventure attended the foodie meet-up on my behalf because am currently out of town but honestly the feedback I received was as if I was sitting at the table at Med. My contributor Jocelyne was really passionate in describing her experience and each dish in details.

As mentioned by my foodie friend in her own words, the atmosphere in the restaurant was brimming with positive vibes, the Med management and the Zomato representatives were very welcoming and courteous. The gathering consisted of approximately fifty foodies, everyone was extremely friendly and full of life. The food in Med restaurant is basically Mediterranean cuisine and this in a nutshell why the restaurant name is Med. The order for tonight dinner was plenty and generous and goes as follows:

  • Creamy spinach tapas it’s basically fresh spinach mixed with fresh mushrooms, parmesan cheese with creamy sauce served with it Baguette bread as per my foodie friend it was an interesting and really tasty opener to the night.
  • After that, there was the Shrimp tapas which is fried shrimp mixed with homemade chili sauce in addition to garlic & coriander and served with sliced bread, according to my contributor and established zomato reviewer the shrimp was quite chewy.
  • The quinoa tabbouleh was fresh and one of the tasty plates that were ordered.
  • The oriental halloumi Salad that consists of traditional fattoush topped with grilled halloumi cheese and cider vinegar sauce was ordinary plate.
  • Garlic bread & cheese as per my friend although it was tasty but somehow it was really big when you consider it’s only a starter but in general it was good.
  • The Med submarine wasn’t that great.
  • The pizza that was ordered had a really tasty and nice dough but the toppings were very regular & dull on the taste.
  •  There were two hot pots of chicken cream with mushroom and beef stroganoff, the chicken pot was tasty and as per the words of my foodie contributor it tasted like “Coq au vin“. As for the stroganoff, it was quite an average dish not that explosive as the chicken dish.
  • Beef shawarma was tasty, the fries weren’t as good as they looked and according to my friend the fries were basically frozen and of the bad quality.
  • The mixed grill as a presentation wasn’t appealing, except for the makanek that was tasty the rest items on the mixed grill plate were pretty average and the hummus was average as well.
  • The sweets as per my friend were generous and gourmand, the huge cookie with vanilla scoop ice cream was tasty and same with snickers scoops, in general, the sweets ordered were well presented and quite tasty but the two mentioned stood out.

The finale of this review will be my own, from the general feedback I’ve got to say it was quite the night, amazing positive vibes, decent food and amazing at times but in general it seemed good. Can’t wait to visit the place and experience such a friendly atmosphere. At the end of the day, food experience is strictly a matter of taste some foodies would like and others might not, at the end what mattered the gathering and mingling of fellow foodies and sharing experiences of their favorite cuisines and restaurants.
